One of the first questions new clients ask us is How much do you charge ?

 Did you know that Ottawa has a very competitive market with some of the lowest prices in Canada. If you area sharp shopper, you will find that local rates vary from a low of $240.00 to a high of $500.00 or more for a four or five hour show. Some companies charge extra for things like early or difficult set-ups, extra amplifiers,speakers, light shows, a more experienced DJ, mileage, etc. etc. etc. 
        There are a lot of good DJ's out there as well as a lot of bad ones and you don't always get what you pay for. One of the worst experiences you could have is to see your party ruined by a poorly trained DJ with lousy equipment and no music selection or worse yet, one that doesn't show up or cancels  
at the last minute. These instances are usually associated with the lowest 
priced DJ's.  
       At JMC these things never happen because customer service is our number one priority. We believe that quality is not expensive, it's Priceless.

   Some people ask us why we go by two different names,  JMC Disc 
Jockeys and DJ MC MOBILE MUSIC.  
    The answer is twofold. First, it gets us listed in two locations in the yellow pages. and explains what we do.  
Secondly it is to differentiate our business from a recent arrival on the DJ scene. Don't be fooled, WE ARE  the original and are in no way affiliated with the other business.

 How to hire a DJ 

      If you don't know a DJ, how do you find a good one ?. Most people 
look in the yellow pages, they ask a friend or in the 90's they surf the net 
   like you're doing now. Welcome !!.  
To ensure the success of your party,there are some questions you should  
ask because no two DJ's are alike and you want a good one.  

Do you have experience ? 

     JMC Disc Jockeys has been serving the Ottawa area since 1975 and 
has performed at hundreds of events.The minimum experience of any DJ 
here is 5 years or more. 
  

What kind of equipment do you use ?  

     JMC uses only professional DJ equipment with CD Players from 
Denon and Techniques, amplifiers by Traynor, Crown, Peavey and QSC, 
 speakers  by Cerwin Vega and Yorkville.  
This is top notch gear and all systems are equipped with back-up  
components in case of breakdown.  

What kind of music do you play ?  

      We play the right music for your function. We call it "Music for all Ages". Each system travels with many thousands of songs to satisfy all 
musical tastes and styles. Our selectionis vast and varied allowing  
the DJ to be very versatile no matter what type of event you're hosting.  

Do you play requests ? 

      Yes ,we encourage them unless we are instructed by the client not to. 
We never play a song that is in bad taste and you may choose from 
 our large catalogue.  

Do you know the proper etiquette ? 

      JMC has played at all kinds of events and knows the proper procedures. Our well dressed DJ's will even help you along the way by guiding you on  
your special day should you need it.Our specialty is Wedding Receptions  
and we will work with your guests to ensure everything goes smoothly. We 
are famous for the Bouquet and Garter toss.  

Who controls the volume ?  

      The client is always in control of the volume!!. At JMC we are always 
aware of the guests needs and desires.There are ways to intensify the  
sound on the dance floor and allow your guests to talk at the same time.  

Will I receive a  written confirmation ? 

      When you book your event with JMC you are protected by a written 
contract that has no fine print. Your total satisfaction is our goal. When you reserve your date a deposit is required with the balance payable at the party.

Your Party  

    For a party to be perfect a lot of things have to happen all at the same 
time. You have enough on your plate without having to worry about the  
music.  That's where we come in!!.  
      At JMC we're  experts at making parties happen. We know how to read 
a crowd and play the right music that gets everybody up on the dance floor. 
 Our DJ's can be as interactive as you want them.  
      We can act as your MC and do all the announcing or we can turn the 
mic. over to you. The client is always in control of the volume and we listen 
to your requests. We know which songs work, when to play them and  
we can assist you in choosing music selections for your event. 
      There is no better way to make people dance than to play their requests.  
All parties are different with varied age groups, different occasions and circumstances. The music selectionhas to be vast and varied to be  
effective. Timing is the key to filling the dance floor and experience keeps 
them there.  
     After gaining experience a good DJ knows how to get a party going 
and We wear it well.
